Scottsdale’s City Council has voted 6-0 to ban aspects of Proposition 207, the state’s new marijuana law.
The city’s new ordinance prohibits the transportation and sale of recreational marijuana unless by a medical marijuana dispensary, effectively banning recreational-only dispensaries from operating in the city, Scottsdale.org reported.
The ordinance also prohibits the use of marijuana in public (at bars, restaurants, hotels, parks, etc.), but Prop 207 already prohibited this statewide.
Prop 207, now known as the Smart and Safe Arizona Act (SSAA), will allow adults 21 and older to grow, possess and purchase marijuana.
